Several big film sequels are currently in development, with some nearly complete and ready for release, while others have been eagerly awaited. Among these is a sequel to the 2007 film ‘Apne,’ which starred Sunny and Bobby Deol, along with their father, Dharmendra. While Sunny and Bobby Deol are occupied with various projects, director Anil Sharma has shared an exciting update on ‘Apne 2.’
Sunny and Bobby Deol have had multiple film releases this year. They are also set to bid farewell to 2025 with significant films. While Bobby Deol has ‘Alpha,’ Sunny Deol has ‘Safar,’ which was initially planned for OTT release but will now be released in theaters. What is the status of ‘Apne 2’?
In a recent interview with News 18, Anil Sharma discussed ‘Apne 2.’ He mentioned that he is working on scripts for several films, including the script for the Sunny and Bobby Deol film. However, he clarified that his next film will not be ‘Apne 2.’ Nevertheless, fans need not be disappointed as it is in the pipeline and will soon be released in theaters. Updates on the shooting will be shared soon.
He confirmed that ‘Apne 2’ is definitely being made, and the scripting is complete. Since he has many scripts, he aims to bring them all to fruition. Earlier, Anil Sharma mentioned that he plans to release ‘Gadar 3’ within two years, with its script also nearly ready. Given the current popularity of the Deol brothers, if this film is released at the right time, it could potentially break the records of Salman and Ranbir.
During the interview, Anil Sharma explained that it was not difficult to convince Sunny, Bobby Deol, and Dharmendra for the film and the idea. They wanted to work together on a film, and they wanted him to direct it. They were thrilled when he presented the story of ‘Apne.’ When he narrated the story to Dharam ji, he teared up. When Bobby heard the script, he hugged him.
