During the 79th Indian Independence Day celebrations, Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu addressed the 43rd India Day Parade in New York City, USA, jointly organized by the Indian Consulate and the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA). Addressing the Indian diaspora, Satnam Singh urged them to remember the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and unsung heroes of the independence movement. He also praised the Indian diaspora for maintaining their patriotic spirit despite being thousands of miles away from their homeland, while also working continuously in their adopted country. The Rajya Sabha MP stated that India is rapidly progressing and proudly stands as the world’s fourth-largest economy. He highlighted that over 250 million people have been lifted out of poverty in recent years in a nation that was once mired in poverty for decades.
