The upcoming film ‘War 2,’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, has undergone revisions by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie, which is part of the YRF spy universe, has been highly anticipated by fans. The film received a U/A 16+ certificate on August 6th, indicating that it is suitable for audiences aged 16 and above, with parental guidance advised for younger viewers. However, the CBFC mandated several modifications before issuing the certificate.
While there were no changes to the action sequences, adjustments were required in certain scenes and audio-visual elements. The board instructed the filmmakers to mute inappropriate references in six instances across audio and visuals. Additionally, an offensive dialogue was replaced with a corrected version. A subsequent gesture by a character, lasting two seconds, was also removed as it did not meet the board’s standards. Furthermore, the CBFC requested a reduction of sensual scenes by 50 percent, amounting to approximately nine seconds of footage. It is speculated that these deleted scenes involve Kiara Advani from the song ‘Aavan Jaavan’.
‘War 2’ is slated to be one of the major releases of 2025, directed by Ayan Mukerji, and is scheduled to hit theaters on August 14th. The film, produced by YRF, boasts a budget of 200 crore rupees. The original ‘War’ was released in 2019, with Hrithik Roshan as the lead. ‘War 2’ marks the Hindi cinema debut of Jr. NTR, who will be seen in a negative role.
