Several Chinese smartphone manufacturers, including Honor and Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi, are focusing on devices with large batteries. Recent reports suggest Redmi is developing a phone with an 8500mAh to 9000mAh battery. This has been made possible by advancements in silicon-carbon technology, allowing for increased battery capacity without significantly increasing the phone’s thickness. This upcoming Redmi phone is expected to utilize the company’s own technology and an upgraded version of silicon-carbon composite materials, aiming to offer a high-capacity battery while maintaining a slim profile under 8.5mm, without compromising battery cycle life. If this materializes, it will be the phone with the largest battery in Redmi’s existing portfolio. Moreover, Redmi is also anticipated to launch the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro, featuring an 8000mAh battery, an upgrade from the 7550mAh battery in the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro.
