A shocking incident has come to light in Adhaura, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, where a woman allegedly murdered her husband by electrocution. The wife, identified as Parvati Gupta, was reportedly angered by her husband, Manoj Gupta’s, second marriage. She is accused of tying his hands and feet before administering the fatal electric shock.
The incident occurred in the village of Adhaura, under the jurisdiction of Balrampur police station. The victim, Manoj Gupta (50), was found dead in a semi-nude state. The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and launched an investigation into the matter. According to initial reports, the deceased had two wives. He had married Parvati Gupta 27 years ago and had a son and two daughters with her. After 27 years of marriage, Manoj Gupta married a 22-year-old woman who lived with him and studied at his home. The second marriage was opposed by the family, and Manoj Gupta moved out of the house to live with his second wife in a rented house.
After the second marriage, Manoj Gupta had transferred all his assets to his first wife. This included property, land, a shop, and rental vehicles. However, the first wife and her family allegedly continued to harass him, demanding a sum of 1.5 crore rupees. It is alleged that Manoj Gupta was called to his house, where his hands and feet were tied, and he was given an electric shock, leading to his death. His daughter and son-in-law were also present during the incident. Following the incident, Parvati Gupta was reportedly taken ill and admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
Balrampur TI Bhupendra Sahu stated that Manoj Gupta’s body was found semi-nude at the house and that his hands and feet were tied. The police are investigating the matter, and preliminary investigations suggest a case of homicide. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
