Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the efforts of the women of Bilha, Chhattisgarh, for their work in sanitation during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address. The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, acknowledged this as a moment of pride for the state. Sai stated that the initiative by the women of Bilha, who underwent waste management training and transformed their city, deserved national recognition. He emphasized that this recognition reflects the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission, which the state government is implementing. Sai also mentioned the recent honor bestowed upon seven cities in Chhattisgarh by the President under the Swachh Bharat Mission, including Bilha. He highlighted the positive impact of the mission across Chhattisgarh and noted the exemplary performance in sanitation rankings by five urban bodies in the Jashpur district.
