The victim, identified as Vinod Jajodia, was attacked on Sissai Road, near his popular store, ‘Jajodia Store.’ The brazen killing has sent shockwaves through the entire Gumla district, sparking outrage and fear among locals and fellow business owners. A CCTV footage circulating online purportedly shows three assailants involved in the crime. One attacker is seen using a sharp weapon to assault the victim, while two others appear to be surveying the area. The family was in the midst of celebrating a joyous occasion when the tragedy struck. Vinod Jajodia’s son, Govind Jajodia, had recently passed his Chartered Accountancy (CA) exam, filling the family with pride and happiness. The news of Vinod’s murder abruptly transformed their celebration into mourning.
According to local reports, Vinod Jajodia was returning from a grocery store when the attack occurred. The assailant struck him repeatedly with a sharp weapon, targeting his neck, face, and other parts of the body. Seriously injured, Vinod Jajodia was rushed to a hospital and later referred to Ranchi due to his critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries en route. Police have launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from the crime scene and its surroundings to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. The business community of Gumla has strongly condemned the heinous crime, demanding swift action from the authorities.
