A three-day passport service mobile van camp commenced in Lakhisarai, Bihar, on Tuesday. Organized by the Regional Passport Office, Patna, the camp will run from July 1st to July 3rd, 2025. The inauguration of the camp was attended by Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer, Patna, and Mithilesh Mishra, District Magistrate of Lakhisarai.
This initiative by the Regional Passport Office aims to provide passport-related services to applicants in their local areas, addressing the increasing number of applicants at Post Office Passport Seva Kendras and the absence of such a center in the Lakhisarai district.
Notably, the Indian government has been issuing chip-embedded passports since May 12, 2025, which store all applicant information. This Lakhisarai camp marks the tenth such camp since April 2024, following events in Siwan, Gopalganj, Purnia, and the police district of Bagaha.
Applications for both new and re-issue passports are being accepted at the camp. Fifty-five appointment slots are released daily for this camp. Online registration and further information are available at www.passportindia.gov.in. Applicants must fill out the online application, pay the prescribed fee, and obtain an appointment for the passport service mobile camp. They are required to be present on the designated day and time at the specified location with original documents, photocopies, photographs, fingerprints, and for verification of applications and original certificates.
It is important to note that applications for PCC, those held due to any reason or for certificates, and applications without prior online appointments will not be accepted at this camp. Applicants can visit the aforementioned website for information on required documents.
The Regional Passport Office, Patna, is committed to continuing this service. The Regional Passport Office, Patna, with the support of Bihar Police, received an award for the best-performing police based on passport application verification data for the year 2024-25.
