A government school teacher in Telangana’s Vikarabad district has been suspended following an incident where she brought an animal brain to class for an anatomy lesson on June 24. Authorities have initiated a police investigation into the matter. Students reported the teacher identified the brain as potentially belonging to a crow, though police are yet to confirm the animal species. The case is registered under the Cow Slaughter Act. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) protested the teacher’s actions, alleging they offended religious sentiments. Subsequently, education officials suspended the teacher. In a separate event, Kerala’s Minister of Public Education and Employment V Sivankutty has requested the Labour Commissioner to investigate the collapse of a building near Kodakara in Thrissur district, where three migrant workers from West Bengal lost their lives on Friday. The building housed 17 individuals, with rescue operations ongoing to recover the third body.
