Shillong, Meghalaya: The East Khasi Hills Police have released key details concerning the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivek Syiem has identified Raj Kushwaha as the mastermind behind the crime. The SP stated that Sonam was involved in the plan. The investigation revealed that the planning began as early as February. The group, including Raj’s cousin, acted out of friendship, not for financial gain. Initially, they considered executing the plan in Guwahati. Sonam then devised a plan to carry out the act in Shillong. The police have arrested the individuals involved and are continuing to investigate. The five key accused, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, have been remanded to police custody for eight days. The body of Raja Raghuvanshi was found in a gorge near Sohra, close to Cherrapunji, Meghalaya, on June 2. Sonam Raghuvanshi, along with Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Raj Singh Kushwaha, and Anand, are accused in the murder. Raja and Sonam, residents of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were on their honeymoon in Meghalaya when Raja disappeared. Sonam was later found near a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur main road.
