In the wake of the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has announced the postponement of all party functions. Akhilesh Yadav, the party’s chief, expressed condolences and stated that all SP events would be put on hold for the next three days. The accident, which occurred earlier in the day, prompted an outpouring of grief and a unified response from various political entities. The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also cancelled his Friday programs as a mark of respect. The ill-fated flight, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, was en route to London and carried 242 passengers, including 12 crew members. The aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, impacting a doctors’ hostel in the Meghani Nagar area. The Goa government has declared a day of state mourning. Rescue and relief operations are underway, with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Army providing assistance.
