Boeing Commercial Airplanes has stated it is in contact with Air India following the crash of flight AI-171, which was en route to London’s Gatwick airport from Ahmedabad. The flight, carrying 242 passengers and 12 crew members, crashed shortly after takeoff in the Meghaninagar area. Boeing’s official X handle conveyed their support, stating they are ready to assist. The flight comprised 169 Indian, 53 British, one Canadian, and seven Portuguese nationals. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is also in contact with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) regarding the incident. The FAA indicated that the investigation will be led by the relevant government, with the NTSB acting as the official U.S. representative and the FAA providing technical support. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow and assured assistance to those affected by the tragic event.
