As a result of Bhupesh Baghel’s continuous initiative to start airline service from Chhattisgarh’s Judicial Bilaspur under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, the airline will start from Bilaspur to New Delhi from March 1.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel had met Union Aviation Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri on 4 February during his stay in New Delhi and requested Bilaspur to allow air connectivity to metros like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. On which Union Minister Shri Puri had announced to start an Air India flight from Bilaspur to Delhi immediately.
Two flights of ATR 72 aircraft from Bilaspur to Delhi will be operated on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The first flight will leave Delhi and reach Bilaspur at 3.20 am via Jabalpur and return to Delhi via Bilaspur at 3.45 pm via Prayagraj. (Delhi-Jabalpur-Bilaspur (1520-1545) -Prayagraj-Delhi). The second flight will reach Bilaspur at 4 pm via Delhi via Prayagraj and at 4.30 pm will go to Delhi via Bilaspur to Jabalpur (Delhi-Prayagraj-Bilaspur (1600-1630) -Jabalpur-Delhi). Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, has given its consent for this. According to the instructions of the Union Aviation Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri on the request of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel in this regard, permission will be issued by the Airport Authority of India while acting on it soon.
The Chief Minister had also requested to develop a cargo hub facility in Raipur during the meeting with Mr. Puri, on which the Union Minister has instructed the Chairman of the Airport Authority of India to carry out the site inspection and take necessary action. The Chief Minister had also requested to start air service from Ambikapur Airport and from Jagdalpur Airport to start air service to the metros, on which the Union Minister assured of positive initiatives.
