Bhupesh Baghel today unveiled the statue of Padmashri late Pandit Shyam Lal Chaturvedi at Rajendra Nagar Chowk in Bilaspur. During the program, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel also honored the sculptor Mr. Ramesh Dubey, who made a statue of late Pandit Shyam Lal Chaturvedi.
It is noteworthy that under the Smart City Scheme, the name of the road has been named after Gaurav Padmashri late Pandit Shyam Lal Chaturvedi of Bilaspur, while upgrading the kerosene lane road at a cost of Rs 8 crore. The inspiring life of late Pandit Shyam Lal Chaturvedi was a unique confluence of a poet, a writer, a journalist, a teacher, an editor. Self Pandit Shyamlal Chaturvedi was the first Chairman of the Official Language Commission. He continued to work as an independent journalist throughout his life. Representing the typical tradition, folk style, language style of Chhattisgarh, Pandit Shyam Lal Chaturvedi ji, through his many compositions books, spread the culture of Chhattisgarh to the people of the country and the world.
Public Works and Home Minister and District In-charge Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria, Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Rashmi Ashish Singh, Mayor Mr. Ramsharan Yadav, Bilaspur MLA Mr. Shailesh Pandey, Collector Dr. Sansha Mittar, Superintendent of Police Shri Prashant Agarwal, Shri Atal Srivastava, Shri Vijay Kesharwani, Shri Shashikant Chaturvedi, son of late Pandit Shyam Lal Chaturvedi, Shri Suryakant Chaturvedi and others were present in large numbers.
