RMC officials giving property tax demand notice to a taxpayer.

On order of Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) Commissioner Saurabh Kumar, Revenue Department on Sunday served property tax demand notices to 5,175 tax payers in a home-to-home tax collection drive at seven wards under Zone-8 in the presence of RMC Commissioner Arun Dhruw and Zone Assistant Revenue Officer Pramod Jadhav. Zone-8 Commissioner Dhruw informed that the Zone has got a revenue collection target of Rs 13.55 crores in 2020-21, against which they have so far collected Rs 6.21 crores till January 2, 2021 i.e. 45.86 per cent of the target. All the big debtors have been asked to immediately pay the tax to RMC. The officials distributed property tax demand notices to people and advised them to pay the tax to avoid problems. At Veer Sawarkar Nagar Ward-1, 2000 taxpayers were given demand notice, 475 demand notices given at Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Ward-2, 350 demand notices at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Ward-19, 400 demand notices at each Ramkrishna Paramhansa Ward-20 and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ward-21, 500 demand notices at Madhav Rao Sapre Ward-69 and 1,050 demand notices to Sant Ravidas ward-70. Officials have asked people to promptly pay the property tax to avoid any inconvenience. In case of non-payment, RMC will go ahead to seize the property of big defaulters.
