He has recently won three gold medals at the 11th International Sports Festival held in Dubai.
Kamala Devi Mangatani has been struggling with complex disease like diabetes for the last 30 years. There was a time when doctors responded to treatment and were given the crutches due to inability to move, but while the body was responding on one side, his morale and confidence on the other hand were ready to fly new. He not only left Baisakhi but started standing on his feet. Taking a step forward, he took a new perspective towards life.
More than 100 gold medals have won so far
In a few years, he made himself so strong that he started going to the local gym. For the last five years, she has been continuously practicing regularly in the gym. While people of her age live a comfortable life after retirement, Kamala Devi gets up in the morning and goes to sweat in the gym. In the gym, he not only fit himself, but also mastered a difficult workout like weightlifting. The result of his hard work and passion was that he started participating in weightlifting competitions held at various levels. Starting from national level competitions, she gradually reached the international stage. So far she has won more than 100 gold medals. These awards include national, international and state level competitions.
Three gold medals won in international sports ceremony
The most recent and glorious success he achieved at the 11th International Sports Festival held in Dubai. The event organized by the United Indian Sports Foundation was organized between 22 to 28 April 2025 under the Dubai Sports Council. Participants from all over the world participated in it. Kamala Devi, representing India, won three gold medals and a silver medal. With this historical achievement, he illuminated the name of not only India, but Chhattisgarh state and especially Manendragarh-Chirmi-Bharatpur (MCB) district.
