Significantly, after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, the Government of India has canceled the visas of Pakistani citizens living in India taking big diplomatic action against Pakistan. Along with this, they have been ordered to leave the country as soon as possible. The Government of India has made it clear that the visa of Pakistani citizens will now be valid till April 27, while medical visa holders have been given the extension of April 29.
On the order of the Government of India, the investigation of Pakistani citizens has started in Chhattisgarh too. According to sources, there are about 2000 Pakistani citizens in Chhattisgarh, out of which around 1800 live alone in Raipur. Most of them are from the Sindhi community. Visa and other documents are being investigated in depth by the police.

According to several media reports, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asked the Chief Ministers of all the states to talk on the phone and ensure that no Pakistani citizens should stay in India more than the deadline.
Relief to long -term visa holders
The central government has clarified that long -term visas issued to Hindu Pakistani citizens will not be canceled and they will not need to leave the country. However, it will be mandatory for people who come to business, medical or religious visas to leave India within the stipulated time. SAARC visa holders do not currently need immediate withdrawal, but they are also investigated.
