Mumbai. Vishal Patil, who won the Lok Sabha election from Sangli as an independent candidate, has extended his support to the Congress. He had rebelled and contested as an independent after the Sangli parliamentary seat was given to Shiv Sena-UBT in the seat-sharing arrangement between Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies.
Vishal Patil, the rebel Congress candidate who won from Maharashtra’s Sangli Lok Sabha seat, has supported India Block and Maha Vikas Aghadi. Congress has won 99 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. With the support of Vishal Patil, the strength of Congress in the Lok Sabha will increase to 100.
Vishal Patil and Vishwajit Kadam met Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and submitted their letter of support to the party. The leaders said that if the Lok Sabha Secretariat gives its approval, Vishal Patil can be called an associate MP of the Congress and the party’s strength in the Lok Sabha will become 100.
Let us tell you that Vishal Patil is the grandson of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vasantdada Patil. Vishal Patil has won the Lok Sabha election from Sangli seat by defeating Sanjay Kaka Patil of BJP.
Vishal Patil, who contested as an independent candidate from Sangli Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra, got 5 lakh 71 thousand 666 votes. He defeated BJP’s Sanjay Patil by 1 lakh 53 votes. BJP candidate Sanjay Patil came second on this seat. He got a total of 4 lakh 71 thousand 613 votes. At the same time, Shiv Sena of Uddhav Thackeray faction came third on this seat. Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Chandrahar Subhash Patil got a total of 60 thousand 860 votes.
