In Gwalior, Bharat Singh Kushwaha of BJP is facing a tough contest with Praveen Pathak of Congress. Voting took place in Gwalior on 7 May. Here, out of 21 lakh 54 thousand voters, 13 lakh 39 thousand cast their votes. EVMs brought from 1680 polling stations of Gwalior district are kept in the strong room of MLB College, Gwalior.
This strong room has a three-layered tight security by the police administration. CCTV cameras have been installed at every nook and corner of the strong room and the CCTV cameras are being displayed on LED screens in the strong room premises. Despite so much security, Congress has deployed its team for EVMs. In the scorching heat of 43 degrees, more than a dozen Congress workers are taking turns keeping guard 24 hours a day. Congress workers are monitoring the CCTV installed in the strong room. The administration has also made suitable arrangements for the Congress workers. Congress workers say that they are keeping guard here to save democracy.
