Let us tell you that Sarabjit Singh, a resident of Bhikhiwind village of Tarn Taran district of Punjab, had gone to Pakistan on 30 August 1990, where the Pakistani Army arrested him and imprisoned him. Just like Kulbhushan Jadhav, Pakistan had imposed false cases against Sarabjit, on which the Pakistani court had sentenced him to death.

Apart from Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir and wife Sukhpreet, the Indian government also made many efforts to bring Sarabjit back to India, but these efforts could not succeed. In 2013, while serving his sentence in Lahore jail, Aamir Sarfaraz had hit Sarabjit on the head with bricks. After this he was admitted to a hospital in Lahore, but his life could not be saved.

A case was filed against Sarfaraz and others for attacking Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan, but he was acquitted in 2018 on the basis of lack of evidence.
