Violation of code of conduct, notice issued to head teacher and assistant teacher, action will be taken if satisfactory answer is not received

Show cause notice has been issued to the head reader and assistant teacher in case of violation of the Model Code of Conduct applicable for the Lok Sabha General Election 2024. Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) Pendraroad and Assistant Returning Officer Area No. 04 Korba have issued a show cause notice to Bhishma Tripathi, Principal Primary School, Dhanauli and Rajesh Tiwari, Assistant Teacher Primary School, Karangara, seeking their reply within 24 hours. A warning has been given of disciplinary action if a satisfactory answer is not given within the time limit.

In separate notices issued to both of them, it has been said that pictorial news has been published regarding your participation in political activities and election campaigning. It may be noted that at present the code of conduct for Lok Sabha General Election-2024 is in effect. It is a violation of the model code of conduct for a public servant to work or campaign in favor of a particular party. Also, it is contrary to the provisions of Rule 3 of Civil Services Conduct Rules-1965. Therefore, why not take disciplinary action against you under the provisions of Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1966 and other relevant laws.

It has been said in the notice that within 24 hours you should explain the reasons why disciplinary action should not be taken against you for the said act. In case a satisfactory reply is not received within the prescribed time period, unilateral action will be taken against you, for which you yourself will be responsible.
