BCCI Central Contracts: Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were hit hard by the arbitrariness, BCCI removed them from the annual contract list, this player got a place

BCCI Central Contracts: Big news related to Indian cricket has come out. Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer, who are among the star players of the team, have had to suffer the consequences of continuously ignoring domestic cricket. Both the players have been excluded from the annual contract list of players for the season 2023-24 released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In the list, left-handed batsman Rinku Singh of Uttar Pradesh has got a place in Grade-C.

While releasing the Central Contract List, BCCI has clearly said that this time Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have not been selected for the annual contract. Also, BCCI has bluntly said that all players should give priority to playing domestic cricket when they are not representing the national team. Let us tell you that in the list of centrally contracted players released by BCCI last year, Shreyas and Ishaan were included. Shreyas Iyer was in B category in the 2022-23 Central contract, while Ishan Kishan was kept in C category, but this time both have not been included in any grade.

Ishaan-Shreyas angered BCCI

It is noteworthy that despite BCCI’s request, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan did not show any interest in playing first class cricket. In such a situation, for the last few days there were reports that both these players may be released from the central contract and now it has happened. On one hand, after taking a break from the series against South Africa, Kishan was constantly being instructed to make a comeback and play Ranji Trophy. But Kishan ignored BCCI and did not participate in even a single Ranji match from Jharkhand. BCCI had made it clear that all the players who are not on national duty will have to participate in Ranji Trophy.

Whereas Iyer was dropped from the Test series against England due to poor performance. Iyer made the excuse of injury for not playing Ranji Trophy. But the National Cricket Academy exposed Iyer’s lies. NCA made it clear that Iyer is match fit and he has no problem of any kind in playing. After which the board has taken this action against Iyer. By taking action against these two players, BCCI has also given the message that domestic cricket cannot be ignored at any cost.

BCCI signed contracts with these players for the 2023-2024 season

BCCI has given contracts to 30 players for the 2023-2024 season. Starting a new tradition this time, the board has also given a separate fast bowling contract. This list includes Akash Deep, Vijaykumar Vaishyak, Umran Malik, Yash Dayal and Vidwath Kavarappa.
