Sports Ministry angry at suspended President of Indian Wrestling Association, warned of legal action, know what is the whole matter

Sports Desk. The name of suspended President of Wrestling Federation of India Sanjay Singh is once again in the headlines. On Tuesday, the Sports Ministry of India has warned suspended WFI President Sanjay Singh of legal action. It is being told that, despite being suspended from WFI, Sanjay Singh is making blatant and mischievous claims regarding interference in the functioning of the wrestling association and government recognition, which the Sports Ministry is not liking. The Sports Ministry is furious over Sanjay Singh’s statements. Not only this, the situation has reached the point of warning.

Let us tell you that earlier, the newly elected WFI committee under the leadership of Sanjay Singh had announced to organize Under-15 and Under-20 National Competition in Gonda to save one year of junior wrestlers, but the Sports Ministry had rejected the decision of this committee. It was suspended on December 24, just three days after assuming charge. Despite this, Sanjay Singh had claimed last Saturday that about 700 wrestlers will participate in the Senior National Championship in Pune from 29 to 31 January and now the Sports Ministry is angry over this statement of Sanjay Singh.

Know what the Sports Ministry said?

The ministry said in the letter addressed to Sanjay Singh that certain claims are being made by you regarding the recognition of the currently suspended Executive Committee of WFI and the tournaments organized by you in Pune, which are completely baseless and harmful. . The Ministry had already told you through a letter on 7 January 2024 and had clarified the entire issue. It is once again informed that any championship or competition organized by the members of the suspended Executive Committee of WFI will be considered as unsanctioned and unrecognized competition.
