During the attack by the elephant group, the people sitting outside the house lighting a bonfire barely saved their lives by running away. Pathalgaon Forest Department staff is trying to drive away the elephants by reaching the spot, but the group of elephants is camping near the village.

Earlier, a group of elephants had created havoc in 4 villages of Pathalgaon and Kansabel area and damaged 5 houses. In fact, due to vacancy in the posts of Forest Range Officers in Jashpur Forest Division, the rescue work is being badly affected.
