2023-24 Chhattisgarh Olympics to begin with Hareli festival

The event will be held in six levels from Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club to state level.

There are 16 types of traditional sports in the team and singles category.

Participants will be in three age groups from children to the elderly, the Collector has instructed to make all necessary preparations.

As per the intention of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, chhattisgarhia Olympics 2023-24 is being organized from Hareli Tihar on July 17 like last year with the aim of promoting traditional sports of Chhattisgarh in urban and rural areas, nurturing sports talents, spreading awareness about sports, providing a platform to the players and developing sportsmanship.
Collector Janmejay Mahoba held a meeting in the auditorium of the Collectorate today to ensure all preparations in advance for the successful organization of Chhattisgarhia Olympics, district panchayat, education department, janpad panchayat for rural areas, urban administration for urban areas. District Panchayat CEO Shri Sadeep Agrawal, District Education Officer Shri MK Gupta, All Janpad Panchayat CEOs and officials of urban bodies were present in the meeting.
Collector Shri Mahobe asked to set up organizing committees at youth mitan club, zone, development block- urban and district level and to organize Chhattisgarhia Olympics even better on the basis of the experiences of the previous year. Keeping in mind the weather, he asked to organize all level games within the time limit. Along with this, keeping in mind the health of the players, sports events should be organized, first aid kits should be arranged at every event level and emergency medical facilities should be provided at the local level as much as possible.
In the meeting, Collector Shri Mahoba instructed all the players to get their valid identity certificate, bank account information in advance. This sports competition, which lasts for about 2 months and 10 days, will be held in 6 phases. Children to the elderly will be able to participate in this sports competition. A total of 16 traditional sports have been included in the team and singles categories. Rope jumping and wrestling have also been added to the singles category in this year’s Olympics.
The traditional sports competition of Chhattisgarh will be held in two categories in two categories, party
and single. Sports disciplines like Gilli Danda, Pittul, Sankli, Langdi Race, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Tug of War and Banti (Kancha) have been included in the team category in Chhattisgarhia Olympics. The single-category sports disciplines include bilas, phugdi, gedi race, bhanwara, 100 m race, long jump, rope jump and wrestling.
The first competition at Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club level in rural and urban areas will be
held from July 17 to July 22 through knockout method. At the same time, there is a second level zone, in which there will be a club consisting of 8 Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs. It will be held from July 26 to July 31. The event will be held from August 7 to August 21 at the development block and urban cluster level. The district-level event will be held from August 25 to September 04. The division-level events will be held from September 10 to September 20 and the final state-level sports competitions will be held from September 25 to September 27.
In the
Chhattisgarh Olympics, the age group has been divided into three categories. The first category will include participants up to the age of 18 years, the second class up to the age limit of 18-40 years and the third class will include participants above 40 years of age. Participants in both men and women categories will be able to participate in this competition.
