Collector Mr. Kuldeep Sharma instructed to ensure concrete measures for the prevention of road accidents in the district. Collector Shri Sharma said that proper preparations should be made soon so that no untoward incident related to road accident can happen in the district. Collector Mr. Sharma has given detailed instructions to the transport association and school bus operators, apart from the officers of the concerned department, in the meeting held in the hall of the joint district office today. Shri Sharma said that the life of every person is very important. He said that it is not forgivable at all if someone’s life is lost due to the negligence of the vehicle driver or anyone else. He also warned of strict action against those who do not follow the prescribed rules while driving apart from those who drink alcohol and drive at high speed. In the meeting, Superintendent of Police Mr. Jitendra Kumar Yadav, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Dr. Renuka Srivastava, ADM Mrs. Indira Tomar, District Transport Officer Mr. Prakash Raote along with all Revenue Sub-Divisional Officers of the district and officers of the police and concerned department, besides the Transport Association. Officers and school bus operators were present. In the meeting, the Collector made a detailed review regarding the measures taken for the prevention of road accidents in the district, identified black spots etc. Collector Mr. Sharma said that strict action will be taken against the concerned driver as well as the owner of the vehicle if the drivers are found to be driving wrongly apart from drunkenness or driving at high speed. He instructed the police and transport department officials to check speeding or overloaded vehicles and make arrangements for action on the border of the district itself. Shri Sharma instructed to conduct regular health check-up of the vehicle drivers and under this also to check their eye and physical health in a better way. In the meeting, the Collector instructed the school bus operators to ensure proper measures to transport school children from their homes to schools in a completely safe manner. He also warned of strict action against the school management if any irregularities were found in this work. Shri Sharma asked the officers and employees of the Transport and Traffic Department to ensure effective measures for the prevention of road accidents by being present in the field every day. In the meeting, Superintendent of Police Mr. Jitendra Kumar Yadav gave a strict warning that those who are negligent while driving and do not follow the rules will not be spared under any circumstances. In such a situation, apart from the concerned vehicle drivers, strict action will also be taken against the vehicle owners. He asked all the vehicle owners to conduct regular health tests of their subordinate drivers and also to get their eyes etc. checked properly. Mr. Yadav said that there should not be overloading in the vehicle under any circumstances. The Superintendent of Police asked the school bus operators to keep the speed of school vehicles low and ensure 100% safety standards. He also warned of regular checking of vehicles in the coming days and strict action against the drivers who violate the rules. In the meeting, the members of the Transport Association and the school bus operators unanimously told that their drivers would not come forward to defend them if action is taken against them for consuming alcohol and driving at high speed and not following the rules.
