News – Paddy procurement campaign, so far 49.27 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from farmers

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the figure of procurement of paddy on support price from farmers in the state is continuously increasing towards the estimated target of 110 lakh metric tonnes. So far, 49 lakh 27 thousand metric tonnes of paddy has been procured under the Paddy Purchase Campaign, in lieu of which Rs 10133 crore has been paid to 12 lakh 70 thousand farmers of the state under the bank linking system. It may be noted that last year, under the guidance of the Chief Minister, along with paddy procurement, the work of custom milling was completed smoothly. Due to the ease of sale of paddy to the farmers and the better arrangement of gunny bags for the lifting of paddy by the millers, paddy procurement and custom milling was done successfully. Like last year, this year also paddy procurement is going on continuously for custom milling along with paddy procurement. So far, DO has been issued for the lifting of 37 lakh 43 thousand metric tonnes of paddy, in lieu of which 28 lakh 98 thousand metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted by the millers. Food Department Secretary Mr. Topeshwar Verma said that the state government Arrangements have been made to issue online tokens along with normal tokens to buy paddy from farmers at the support price. Due to which the farmers have started getting comfortable. A large number of farmers are choosing the date as per their wish to sell paddy through Token Tuhar Haath app. He informed that this year 25.92 lakh farmers have been registered in the state, in which about 2.26 lakh are new farmers. 2594 procurement centers have been set up for paddy purchase in the state. Normal paddy is being bought at the rate of Rs 2040 per quintal and grade-A paddy at Rs 2060 per quintal. A strict vigil is being kept on the system of paddy procurement in the state. Goods carriers are being checked at check posts to prevent illegal transportation of paddy from border states. Officials told that today, on December 14, about 2 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 54 thousand 788 farmers, apart from this, more than 57 thousand 497 tonnes of paddy has also been purchased from farmers through tokens received online. 76,100 tokens and 17,481 tokens have been issued online through the Token Tunhar Haath app for the upcoming day’s paddy procurement.
