Collector Mr. Kuldeep Sharma made a surprise inspection of the government fair price shop of Dhaneli village of Gurur development block. He took information regarding distribution of ration from the ration shop operator. During this, the Collector took information from the present ration card holders about getting ration on time. The villagers told that the ration shop operator charges Rs.20 for Rs.17 kg of sugar. Taking prompt action on the said complaint, Collector Mr. Sharma directed the Food Officer Balod to immediately get the said government fair price shop investigated and suspended for irregularities. In compliance of the order of the Collector, after the investigation by Assistant Food Officer and Food Inspector Gurur, sugar was Rs.17. Along with taking Rs.20 per kg instead of per kg, the quantity and rate of supply of sugar is not mentioned in the ration card by the seller. The District Food Officer said that in the said case, through the operator agency Ch. Due to violation of the provisions mentioned in Para 11 (3) 14 and 15 of the Public Distribution System (Control) Order 2016, it has been suspended and temporarily attached to the government fair price shop Bhotli. Collector Shri Kuldeep Sharma has given instructions to display rate list, stock list etc. in all government fair price shops of the district.
