Help will be available for papaya cultivation to benefit farmers

In order to benefit the farmers through horticulture crops in the district, help will also be given from the mineral trust item. For this, a plan has been prepared for the cultivation of hybrid papaya in about seven and a half hundred acres of area in the district. This entire scheme will be assisted by the Mineral Trust head. Instructions have been given to the officers of the Horticulture Department to submit a detailed proposal after completing the selection of farmers and other necessary arrangements at the earliest. Under the chairmanship of Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure, the second meeting of the Managing Committee of the District Mineral Institute Trust was held in the Collectorate Hall today. In the meeting, the Collector reviewed the various works sanctioned under the DMF head and directed the officers to complete the works expeditiously. He also asked to mark the works which could not be completed due to any reason and cancel them. Dr. Bhure also directed the implementing agencies to make available the utilization and completion certificates of all the works completed under the DMF head at the earliest. He directed to prepare development plans with DMF head for the villages directly affected by mining. In the meeting, Municipal Commissioner Mr. Mayank Chaturvedi, CEO of Zilla Panchayat. District level officers of various departments including Mr. Akash Chhikara, Nodal Officer Ms. Ruchi Sharma also attended. In the meeting, Collector Dr. Bhure also discussed the work plan of Rs.75 crore approved for this year. According to the provisions of DMF, he gave strict instructions to the officers to spend only 60 percent in the high priority sector and 40 percent in other areas. It was informed in the meeting that in the work plan approved for this year, 85 percent work has been approved in high priority sector and only 15 percent work has been approved in other priority areas. In the DMF action plan of the district, this year, almost equal development works have been approved in the direct and indirect areas affected by mining. In the year 2022-23, out of the total approved work plan, only 14.5 percent amount has been approved in the physical infrastructure sector. In this year’s action plan, schemes worth Rs. has been approved. Similarly, schemes worth about Rs 18 and a half crore have been approved for other priority areas like infrastructure development, irrigation, public transport, protection of cultural values, youth welfare.
