The state government has launched ‘Chhattisgarhia Olympics’ to save these traditional games. ‘Chhattisgarhia Olympics’ means an event of sports in which importance is being given to save local sports. This initiative of the state government was launched by the Chief Minister of the state, Shri Bhupesh Baghel on 6th October. On the occasion of ‘Bastar Dussehra’, during his one-day stay in Bastar on 7 October, the Chief Minister gave his participation in the ‘Chhattisgarhia Olympics’ by playing Gulli Danda. Under the ‘Chhattisgarhia Olympics’ event, sports were organized at Rajeev Yuva Mitan Club level in Sargipal and Borigaon of Bakwand block on Tuesday. In different categories, where women participated in Pitthul, 100 meters race, there was enthusiasm of youth in sports like Kho-Kho, Kabaddi. The teacher in charge of sports of Sargipal Vidyalaya said that “the local sports will be brought alive among the generations to come through these games. There is a lot of enthusiasm in the villagers about this. It is noteworthy that on October 6, ‘Chhattisgarhia Olympics’ was launched at the state level by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. Under this, competitions of 14 types of traditional games will be organized in single and party category. In which people below 18 years, 18 to 40 years and above 40 years of age group are participating. These games include the traditional games of Chhattisgarh such as Gilli Danda, Pittool, Sankhali, Langdi Run, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Towing, Bati (Kancha), Billas, Fugdi, Gedi Run, Bhanwara, 100 meter run, Long Jump etc. .
