State’s Urban Development, Urban Development, Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation Minister Shri AK Sharma has taken seriously the presence of stray animals, dogs and pigs in the limits of urban bodies and the infectious diseases and loss of life caused by it. He has given strict instructions to the officers/employees that immediate action should be taken to remove such animals from urban areas. He has expressed deep grief over the painful incident that took place due to dog bite in Thakurganj Lucknow and expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved family members. He has given strict instructions to the departmental officers that such incidents do not recur, so that proper arrangements should be made. The Urban Development Minister has directed that the officers should pay special attention to increase the civic amenities in the urban bodies and the schemes related to it should be implemented at the ground level. He said that in order to effectively monitor the cleanliness of the cities, during the cleaning to be held between 05:00 am to 08:00 am, the officers should also register their presence on the spot and provide their photographs as evidence.
