Demands for grant of Rs 2655 crores passed for Food, Culture and Planning Statistics Departments

In Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha today, the demand for grant of Rs.2654 crore 99 lakh 67 thousand for the departments related to Food Minister Shri Amarjit Bhagat was passed by voice vote. Of these, 2548 crore 46 lakh 80 thousand rupees for the expenditure related to the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Rs 52 crore 45 lakh 89 thousand for the Department of Culture and Rs 54 crore 6 lakh 98 thousand for the Planning, Economic and Statistics Department. Includes budget provision. Minister Shri Bhagat said in the budget speech in the House that Chhattisgarh is known as the bowl of rice. A large number of people are dependent on agriculture here. Chhattisgarh government is farmer friendly government. Due to the farmer friendly policy decisions under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the farmers got a fair price for their produce. As a result of this, farming became profitable and record of paddy procurement is being made year after year in the state. He said that in the Kharif marketing year 2021-22, about 98 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured conveniently from the farmers of the state. 19 thousand 36 crore rupees have been paid in lieu of paddy purchase. Shri Bhagat said in the house that the state government is working with the objective of ensuring food security to the poor, backward and priority families of the state as well as the families of the general category. Universal Public Distribution System has been implemented in the state. Ration card holders can get ration from ration shops of their choice anywhere in 25 districts of the state. He said that the state government is ready to serve the poor, the poor and the victims. During the Corona epidemic, the Food Department actively worked in the public interest. Free ration was distributed for 11 months to villagers, poor, laborers including migrant laborers. Minister Shri Bhagat said in the House that the State Government is working to preserve and promote the heritage of the ancestors including the art, culture and tradition of Chhattisgarh.
