28 chariots came out from village to village to make them aware of the nutrition of children

Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia today flagged off 28 chariots from her residence office at Forest Colony, Raipur for public awareness in the festival of weight. These awareness chariots will motivate children up to 6 years of age to bring weight to Anganwadi and explain the importance of nutrition with the motto ‘Jammo Laika Hohi Khushal Chalav Manabo Weight Festival’ in all 28 districts. Smt. Bhendia has appealed that everyone should bring their children up to 6 years of age to Anganwadi and get their malnutrition level checked during the weight festival. With this we will be able to give a healthy and happy future to the children. It is worth mentioning that the weight festival has started in the state from August 1. The festival will continue till August 13. During this, the nutritional level of children of 0 to 6 years of age in Anganwadis is being assessed by measuring their weight and height. This state-wide campaign will be helpful in making an upcoming action plan for the eradication of malnutrition among children. Awareness chariots will reach all the districts and villages during the weight festival. At the local level, these Raths will go to the gathering places like Haat Bazaars, venues to explain to them about the importance of nutrition and diseases and problems caused by malnutrition through audio messages and posters.
