Farmers of remote forest areas generally have to depend on rain for cultivation. In the absence of sufficient rainfall, they have to face difficulties in farming. With the ambitious Narva Vikas Yojana of the Chhattisgarh government, now the problems of these farmers have started to go away. Through this scheme, the accumulation of rain water in the drains, the construction of water structures and the promotion and protection of natural drains have improved the ground water level. The benefits of which are being given to the local farmers. Due to this, along with forest and wildlife, the villagers are getting enough water for nistar and agricultural work. Construction of various structures for storing water in drains is helping in conservation of biodiversity along with prevention of soil erosion. In tribal-dominated Dantewada district, forest department under CAMPA head under Narva development in Balud Nala in financial year 2019-20 31 structures were constructed. 1.62 kms. Treatment work was done in length and 288 hectare water storage area. Work is being done to make leak tank, check dam, gabion structure under drain treatment.
