Hirandi Bai of Bijapur, who sells vegetables by setting up a small shop by the road, is happy today. The biggest reason for his happiness is that he now has his own pucca house. Her husband also had the same dream that if the mud house and the rag roofs get rid of it, then there will be no trouble during the rainy days. Hirondi Bai’s husband is no longer in this world, but Hirondi Bai, living in her dream house, feels that now that she is living in a pucca house, her husband’s soul will also be happy. Smt. Balakunwar Vishwakarma, hailing from Baikunthpur in Koriya district, had ever weaved a dream of a pucca house with her husband, but this dream could not be fulfilled. His dream was to have his wife and children live in a pucca house. Even though she lives with her children, daughter-in-law and grandson, she is delighted at her husband’s fulfilled dreams. There is no one else who can change the bitter life of these two, whether it is Hirondi Bai or Balkunwar, it is the Government of Chhattisgarh which helped in times of trouble and fulfilled their dreams and brought a smile in the face of these poor people.
After the death of her husband, Mrs. Hirondi Bai Kashyap of Bijapur and Mrs. Balkunwar of Baikunthpur living in a kutcha house have got a pucca house under peacock land and peacock house. Mrs. Sonbati Sahu of Rajnandgaon has also got a house, making her scattered family united. All of them have got a pucca house in their land instead of their old mud house. Thousands of such poor families of urban areas in the state are benefiting from the inclusive model of Chhattisgarh government under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban. In the new house, due to the respect of the poor, due to the government giving the house keys to the homeless and building a house on time, respect is being provided to the beneficiaries of peacock land and peacock house, including other schemes. For successful implementation, the Government of India has also awarded the state of Chhattisgarh for the best performance in the category of “Best Convergence with Other Missions”.
Under the leadership of Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, continuous work is being done in the direction of upgrading and providing better facilities to the poor of the urban area, as a result of which the State of Chhattisgarh has been awarded by the Government of India in three categories.
