Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that maximum possible employment should be provided to rural families under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA). Chief Minister has also constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary to prepare action plan for this task.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that under MNREGA, every rural family is guaranteed employment of 100 days in a financial year. Chhattisgarh Government has successfully provided employment of additional 50 days to rural families under the scheme. He said that in the financial year 2016-17, employment of average 42 days was provided to rural families in the state. In the year, 2017-18, employment of average 52 days was provided and in year 2018-19, employment of 57 days was provided to the rural families. Although Chhattisgarh has been performing way better than other states of the country, but still there are many areas in the state which yields only one crop and there is enough scope of increasing the number of employment days that can be provided per family.
