Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has given a big gift to the employees of Chhattisgarh Electricity Company on the occasion of Prakash Parv today. The Chief Minister has announced a three percent increase in the dearness allowance of the electricians and a bonus ex-gratia of Rs. 9 thousand to encourage their higher efficiency. With this announcement of the Chief Minister, more than 16 thousand employees and officers of Chhattisgarh Electricity Company will get benefit. The officials of Chhattisgarh Electricity Employees Union Federation and Chhattisgarh Electricity Employees Federation met the Chief Minister on Friday evening at his residence. He thanked the Chief Minister for the steps taken for power development in the state. Expressed gratitude towards him for direct recruitment to more than four thousand posts, promotion of more than three and a half thousand in Power Company. Chhattisgarh Federation also expressed its thanks for the compassionate appointment and giving jobs to the land-displaced. Ankit Anand, Chairman, Chhattisgarh State Power Company said that earlier electricity workers were getting 28 percent dearness allowance, now it will increase by three percent to 31 percent. It will be calculated from July 1, 2021. Pensioners will also get the benefit of dearness allowance. The employees who are eligible for bonus will get bonus and all other officers and employees will get ex-gratia amount as an incentive to maintain their efficiency. This will result in a financial burden of about Rs 15.8 crore. Bonus ex-gratia will be calculated in proportion to the actual salary emoluments for the accounting year 2020-21. The calculation of minimum service for payment will be as per the relevant provisions of Bonus Act 1965.
