In the state level school sports competition, Surguja Zone became the overall champion by performing excellently. Under the chairmanship of Shri Amarjeet Bhagat, Chief Hospitality and Food Minister of Chhattisgarh Government’s Urban Administration and Development and Labor and Surguja district’s in-charge Minister, Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, the four-day state level school competition was held at Kridangan, Government Multi-Purpose Higher Secondary School, Ambikapur. In the ceremony, the players of the winning zone were awarded the Champion Shield. Along with this, Raipur division was rewarded for excellent discipline. 620 players from Surguja, Bastar, Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur divisions participated in 5 sports disciplines in the four-day state level school sports competition organized from November 14 to November 17. The closing ceremony of the game was duly announced by the chief guest Dr. Dahria by lowering the flag. A colorful cultural program was presented by the school girls in the closing ceremony. While addressing the function, Chief Guest Dr. Dahria while congratulating the players from all over the state said that our government is committed to provide opportunities to the sports talents of Chhattisgarh at national and international level. By providing opportunities to the players, the name of Chhattisgarh will be illuminated in the sports world. He said that sportsmanship should be developed and expanded in life so that our young generation can give new dimension to various activities with a healthy mindset. This type of event will send a healthy message to the society and in future high quality players will be prepared from our state. Dr. Dahria said that there is no dearth of sports talent in Chhattisgarh. The government is providing resources and facilities to nurture these talents. In this direction, the state government is ensuring the construction of stadium, sports ground and availability of sports materials. Along with this, to promote sports at the school level, it is providing sports material in schools through schemes like Khel Gadhiya. The Government of Chhattisgarh has also established various sports academies so that high level sports can be organized. Congratulating the successful event, Food Minister Shri Amarjit Bhagat, presiding over the function, said that all-round development is being done under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel. In the four-day state level competition, the players have shown their talent and passion. In this type of event, there is a chance to see the performance of the players of other divisions, which is a matter of pride. Here are the winners – Mini Golf, Woodball and Football, 19 years in boys and girls Surguja division, hockey 19 years boys and girls Durg division and tennis ball cricket 17 years boys and girls Bastar division stood first. On presentation of beautiful cultural programs, Food Minister Shri Amarjeet Bhagat gave prizes of Rs 5000 each to the girl students of Kasturba Gandhi Government Girls Residential School and Ursuline Vidyalaya. Players did marchpast- On this occasion, the student players of all the five zones saluted the Food Minister Shri Amarjeet Bhagat by doing a marchpast. The march past was led by Commander Shri Vikas Singh. In the first order, host Surguja Zone in yellow uniform, Bastar Zone in pink uniform in second order, Bilaspur Zone in blue uniform in third order, Durg Zone in dark blue uniform in fourth order and Raipur Zone players in sky blue uniform in last order March past.
