Modi cabinet has taken a big decision regarding spectrum today. The approval for the next round of spectrum auction is over. The government has approved bids for the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz and 2500 MHz bands.

It will be for 20 years. The government has offered a total of 2251.25 mega hertz frequency, which will cost 3 lakh 92 thousand 332 crore. This information regarding the Union Minister spectrum auction will be issued in the month of December itself.

By March 2021, the government has decided to start the spectrum auction process. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recommended a spectrum auction plan of Rs 5.22 lakh crore.

However, some of the identified spectrum frequencies by the Department of Telecommunications are being used by the Ministry of Defense and the Department of Space.

According to Jio, the telecom department has a spectrum of Rs 3.92 lakh crore for auction without any use.
