This is another new step in the line of strengthening the basic health facility in the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, many new schemes have been started to strengthen health facilities. Haat Bazar Clinic Scheme and Chief Minister Slum Health Scheme are being implemented in urban areas to improve rural health. With these schemes, people are getting health facilities easily, due to which people are very happy. These schemes have improved the health of the people in both rural and urban areas in the state. The objective of Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store scheme is to provide affordable medicines to the people. There are two types of medicines available in the pharmaceutical market, one branded and the other generic. Generic names are the chemical names of drugs. Which is given on the basis of its chemical composition. A generic drug can have a patent on its formulation, but its active component is not patented. For this reason generic medicines are made without any patent. Hence they are cheaper than branded drugs. For example, paracetamol medicine is given for fever, by using this paracetamol component, it is branded and sold by various companies at expensive prices. Government replaces expensive branded medicines with cheap generic medicines through government medical stores. Reaching the people. These generic medicines are not inferior in quality to any branded medicines. It is as effective as branded medicines. Generic medicines are launched in the market only after going through all the procedures of quality standards. Their dosage, side-effects etc. are similar to all branded medicines, the difference is only in the name. The generic name of any medicine in the whole world is the same. Big companies also manufacture generic medicines, but due to lack of branding and lack of advertising, people are not aware of it. Medical store operators also sell only branded products in the pursuit of more profit. Due to this reason generic medicines are not accessible to the common people. But now with the efforts of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, these cheap medicines are being made accessible to the people. The sale of 251 types of generic medicines and 27 surgical products is mandatory in these medical stores run by the Urban Administration and Development Department. Apart from this, Sanjeevani products of Forest Department, cosmetics products and baby food etc. are also being sold in these medical stores. An appeal has also been made to make maximum use of organic products (products of Sanjeevani) prepared by the forest dwellers of the state, so that the efforts of the tribal people can also be encouraged.
