A state level meeting of recognized political parties was held today in the Chhattisgarh Election Officer’s office, Raipur, in relation to a special brief revision of the photo-edited electoral roll in the state on January 1, 2022. Reena Babasaheb Kangale informed that at present there are total 11 parliamentary and 90 assembly constituencies in the state, there are 5 Rajya Sabha seats. The number of polling stations in the state is 23,737. In the preliminary publication in the election roll revision of the year 2021, the total number of voters as on 16 November 2020 was 1,91,62,534. Of these, the number of male voters is 95,88,140 and female voters are 95,73,637 and third gender voters are 757. The number of voters at the time of final publication was 1,93,27,890 after the claim objection received and rejected during the revision. Of these, 96,67,761 male voters and 96,59,372 female voters and 757 of third gender, thus increasing the number of voters by 0.86 percent. The number of voters is 1,93,51,060, including 96,76,377 male voters and 96,73,942 female voters and 741 third gender voters. He said that under the revision work, the process of rationalization of polling stations has to be done within the stipulated time-limit. In all such polling stations, through the “Garuda App”, the latitude-longitude of the polling station, the photo of the minimum facilities available in the polling stations will be captured by the Booth Label Officer in this app. He said that the initial publication of the unified voter list would be done on November 1, 2021. The period for claim objection has been fixed from November 1 to November 30. Special camps will be organized on 14th and 21st November to connect more and more voters and make them aware of voting. The period for redressal of claim-objection will be till December 20, 2021. The final preliminary publication of the voter list will be done on January 5, 2022. Smt. Kangale appealed to the political parties for cooperation in preparing the voter list without error. He said that by appointing booth level agents for each polling station, political parties should cooperate with the polling station booth level agents to rectify the desired errors and get their names included in the voter list. Also, voters should be encouraged to fill more and more online forms. He appealed to help in preparing the electoral roll with error free photo by marking the dead and transferred voters. Mrs. Kangale informed that BLO and AERO have been appointed for voter revision. The survey work will be done by the booth level officers from November 1, 2021.
