With the aim of keeping themselves safe before the third wave of corona virus, the people of the district are showing interest in getting the vaccine, understanding the importance of vaccination. So far 1.21 lakh more beneficiaries have got the first dose of corona vaccine in the district. In which the participation of people above 45 years of age has been high. A total of 49,037 people above 45 years of age and 47,040 people between 18 and 44 years have got the Kovid vaccine. According to the information received from the department, so far 36,841 people have taken both the doses of the vaccine in the district. In this regard, CMHO C.B.P. Bansod said, “Corona infection has weakened now. But Corona is not over. It is very important to have both doses of corona vaccine to protect against infection. By applying the second dose of the vaccine, the immune system is strengthened, as well as the risk of getting corona from antibodies produced in the body is also very less. Even if infected, the chances of serious health effects remain low. If due to lack of vaccine or due to any other problem, you could not get the second dose of the vaccine on the scheduled date or there is a gap of few days, then there is no need to panic. You can still get a second dose, because the first dose is present in your memory cells and only after the second dose is complete antibodies are made. There is no harm if a second dose is taken after some time. Dr. Dipesh Chandrakar, District Immunization Officer said, “The increasing data regarding vaccination is showing that now the confusion of vaccines is decreasing among the people. In rural areas, people are showing their awareness and getting the vaccine for safety. Those who have not taken even 1 dose of vaccine so far, they should go to the nearest vaccination center and get their vaccine vaccinated and when the time comes, get the second dose also vaccinated. Currently the second wave of corona is not over. The months of September and October are the months of festivals, these months will be very important, take special care during this time.
