Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Forest Medicine Plant Board Shri Bal Krishna Pathak, Parliamentary Secretary Shri Shishupal Shori, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Subrata Sahu, Principal Secretary Forest Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Rakesh Chaturvedi, Managing Director of State Forest Development Corporation Shri PC Pandey was also present on the occasion.
On this occasion, Chairman, State Forest Development Corporation, Mr. Singh told the Chief Minister that 62 crore 25 in the financial year 2019-20 from the sale and other income of the forest produce obtained from the rare teak plantation planted by the Corporation under the work plan approved by the Government of India. An income of Rs. lakh and Rs. 31 crore 79 lakh has been spent on various works. During the year, the corporation has made a profit of Rs.30 crore 28 lakh.
The Chairman of the Forest Development Corporation informed that due to the works being done by the Corporation, continuous employment opportunities have been provided to the forest dwellers living in the forest areas of the state and the villagers of economically backward classes to improve their social and economic condition. The corporation has not taken any loan from the bank or any financial institution, nor does the corporation receive any grant from the state government. Forest Development Corporation is determined to spread greenery and environmental development in the state.
Giving information about the works of the Corporation, Managing Director of State Forest Development Corporation Mr. PC Pandey said that in the year 2019-20, 40.60 lakh teak, bamboo and mixed species were planted by the corporation in an area of ​​1600 hectares. In the year 2019-20, 8.70 lakh plants of mixed species were planted by the corporation with the amount received from various public undertakings under the Deposit Plantation Scheme for environmental improvement in the state of Chhattisgarh. Similarly, in the year 2019-20, 5.69 lakh plants of mixed species were planted by the Corporation under the Harrier Chhattisgarh Fund. In the forestry year 2019-20, 32164 cubic meters of timber, 18113 nos. of firewood and 1354 notional tons of bamboo have been produced.
