Sharda Malakar, president of a women’s self-help group of Raigad district told Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a virtual program today that her group has earned about Rs.6 lakh 51 thousand by selling vermi compost and earthworms. In this, the group has earned 1 lakh 51 thousand from the sale of 657 quintals of vermicompost and Rs 5 lakh from the sale of 19 quintals of earthworms. Malakar said that she has used this amount to buy new equipment to improve the standard of living of the women belonging to the group and to increase the means of income. He told the Chief Minister that with some money, the group has also bought a machine for making pots from cow dung.
