The Sports and Youth Welfare Department, organized by the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association under the aegis of the Chhattisgarh Government, will be held in Patan on February 20 and 21, Chhattisgarh Sports Madai, named Patan Khel Madai. In line with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s intention to promote traditional sports, preparations are continuing with vigor to give the event a concrete shape.
It is noteworthy that the Olympic Games will be inaugurated by the President of the Olympic Association and the Chief Minister of the state, Bhupesh Baghel on 20 February at 12 noon. Competition will be organized for the players of Patan region in different Chhattisgarhi traditional games in Sankhali, Gedi, Navagodia Bhaura, Gilli Danda, Sur Pittool, Pudhav Pook and Phugdi. At the same time, the competition of Kho-Kho will be performed as a game.
Olympic Association General Secretary Gurcharan Singh Hora is discharging the role of chief organizer. Giving information, he said that OSD of Honorable Chief Minister Ashish Verma is getting support to make these games successful. These games co-ordinator GS Bombra, Dr. Atul Shukla, in-charge of the organizing committee and Dr. Dinesh Namdev, Sports Officer of Patan College, Chandrasekhar Chakor, technical in-charge of the competition and his team as members of the organizing committee. The organizing committee member is Rupinder Singh Chauhan. At the same time, Sachin Dongre is in charge of the Kho-Kho game.
