A one-day workshop-cum-training was organized on the subject of production and value addition of medicinal and aromatic plants yesterday at the Agricultural College and Research Center, Dholia, Bemetra. The National Agricultural Higher Education Scheme (NAHEP) and the Agricultural College and Research Center, Dholia, Bemetra were carried out under joint auspices. In this training program, Dr. Pk Joshi Team Leader, Center of Excellence Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Eng. Agricultural University Raipur, Dr. Yemen Dewangan, Senior Scientist, Center of Excellence Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Ing. Agricultural University Raipur Raipur, Eng. Abhimanyu Kalne, Assistant Professor Center of Excellence Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Ing. Agricultural University Raipur was the chief spokesperson. He provided necessary information about the production of medicinal and aromatic plants in Chhattisgarh and apprised the trainees about its benefits. He said that these crops have multifaceted health benefits as well as promote self-employment. Experts on this subject provided information on the production of plants such as serpagandha, ashwagandha, white musli, lemon grass, black turmeric (hellchur), citronella, rose, jasmine, brown neem etc. and its other products like Essence, Essential Oil and Beauty Enhancement Ingredients Also told about the equipment required to make. In this program, women self-help groups of village-Jhalam, Dholia and Charbhatha, rural horticulture extension officers of Nawagarh, Saja and Bemetra blocks and students of agricultural colleges were trained. Apart from these, officials and employees of Agricultural College and Agricultural Science Center also participated in the program.
