Various weekly programs were organized in the state from 21 to 26 January to commemorate National Girl Child Day. These programs were organized from Anganwadi to state level. At the conclusion of the weekly program, Republic Day on 26 January, saplings were planted at the Sakhi One Stop Center in each district. A plantation program was organized by the Women and Child Development Department in the districts on this day. During this period fruitful plants of Jamun, Mango, Jam and Munga were planted. At Divine Sakhi One Stop Center in Rajdhani Raipur, Director of Women and Child Development, Smt. Divya Umesh Mishra, planted a tree with girls and departmental officials for the week-long Girl’s Day Concluded the program organized to commemorate.
It is worth mentioning that, on the occasion of Girl’s Day, Girl’s Day was celebrated in Dharsiva development block of Raipur district on 23 January in the presence of Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Dahria, during which programs related to girl child protection, safety and health were organized. Other districts were also organized on 24 January under state program in which rangoli program, essay contest, drawing competition, discussion etc. were organized on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao message. Good and bad touch was communicated to the girl child through song, poem, humor play. Along with this, distribution of writing material for reading and writing to girls was also done and people were made aware.
