A total of three matches were played on Tuesday in the fifth edition of the Walford Jain Premier League night cricket tournament organized by the Veer Sports Club at the capital’s Subhash Stadium. The first match was played between Bijmark Blue and Swastik 11. Bijmark Blue won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, Swastik 11 made a big score of 126 runs thanks to Naman Jain’s 34-ball Atishi 85 runs on the loss of six wickets in the scheduled overs. In reply, the Bijmark batsman could score only 29 runs. Club President Praveen Jain said that the second match was played between Arihant-11 and Elite-11.
Batting first, the Elite batsmen were all out for 71 runs. Arihant-11 achieved this target in eight overs only. In this match, Saurabh scored 26 runs and took two wickets. Similarly, the third and final match was played between the series Brothers and Swarna Bhoomi. Batting first, scored 127 runs for eight wickets, while Swarnabhoomi’s team could only manage 51 runs for eight wickets. Saurabh scored 24 runs and took three wickets, so he was adjudged Man of the Match.
