Protesting in front of Kusmunda station, the Marxist Communist Party started a phased agitation by blowing up an effigy of the railway officials and demanding the commissioning of all the trains off Gevra Road in protest against the Kusmunda station. Of. Members of the Rail Sangharsh Samiti and Kisan Sabha activists also joined the effigy burning movement in support of the movement. The effigy burning demonstration was addressed by CPI-M district secretary Prashant Jha, VM Manohar, Janaram Karsh, DL Tandon, Kisan Sabha president Jawahar Singh Kanwar, Rail Sangharsh Samiti’s Ram Kishan Aggarwal. CPI (M) District Secretary Prashant Jha said that even after the introduction of several trains across the country, the people of Korba are working to cheat people in the name of rail management facility, even the wheels of freight trains are blocked till the public gets the convenience of passenger trains. The general public will do the work on 3 February. CPI (M) leader VM Manohar said that Gevra Road gives the most revenue to the railways, but in the name of convenience, the railways works to mislead all the time. No initiative is being taken by the Railways to start those trains also, due to which there is a lot of public outrage, even after 10 months from March 24, 2020, not a single trains were started. While many trains have started in the country. Addressing the demonstration, District President of Chhattisgarh Kisan Sabha, Jawahar Singh Kanwar said that the most affected small businessmen, farmers, laborers have been affected in the lock-down and cheap accessible means of the general public and poor from Gevra Road is also fully accessible Railway management is trying to cheat the public by shutting down, to which women, farmers, students, youth will be given a train check on 3 February.
