Famous by the name of tree-man, who has created awareness in the district and state of environmental protection by making 5 acres of barren land as a forest and planting 300 banyan, peepal, neem and pakar plants on both sides of the road from Kodia to Maharaja Chowk Durg. Environment-friendly Gandalal Deshmukh is no more. Late on Thursday, he breathed his last at home. Deshmukh, who left everyone at the age of 94, worked only for the environment throughout his life. He struggled to save the environment even in his last days. Throughout his life, he kept giving this message to the people that if nature is there then we are all. We not only have to plant trees, but it is very important to save them. With this message, he worked all his life and converted 5 acres of barren land into a forest with his untiring efforts alone. Please tell that Deshmukh has been honored by many organizations including the Chief Minister for environment protection. A glimpse of the work done by them for the environment has also reached Delhi. He also wrote a letter to former President Abdul Kalam to look into his works. However, Deshmukh could not get the respect from the government which he has always been entitled to. Even the awards given for environmental protection were deprived.

Deshmukh’s death, including Hitwa Sangwari Dundera, who works in the field of environment, environmental friend Risali, and environmental activists of youth-producing organization Pise village, have expressed condolences, describing his death as irreparable loss. His last rites will be performed at 10 am today in the forest prepared by him.
